Company History
Established in May 2005, Mackenzie Stuart was founded with an initial strategy to recruit the most successful, respected and ambitious Senior Consultants across the FMCG, Construction and Industrial sectors. Provided with the scope and resource to build teams of like minded individuals with an industry specific focus, Mackenzie Stuart’s aim was to develop long term partnerships with key organizations using innovative and tailored recruitment processes.
- May 2005 Chris Newsham and Rebecca Minter join at the outset.
- October 2005 Andrew Bruce and Nick Jenkins join the business
- November 2005 Dominic Paglia joins the business
- May 2006 Mackenzie Stuart records higher than anticipated profit figures for Year 1 and delivers 167% of target for growth
- June 2006 As a result of their hugely positive start, Mackenzie Stuart expands into 2 new market sectors, Finance and Oil & Gas, recruiting experienced consultants in these sectors to provide the expertise required for continued growth
- November 2006 Mackenzie Stuart is acknowledged as the fastest growing Executive Search & Selection business in the UK
- December 2006 Kelly Dowson joins the business
- March 2007 Steve Hull joins the business
- April 2007 Mackenzie Stuart breaks their ambitious target for growth and expands into larger office accommodation
- May 2007 Year 2 again shows over achievement of profit and revenue targets. Creation of a Succession Plan, introduction of an Appraisal system and an agreement to become an SHL partner
- May 2008 Top performing consultants are rewarded with the creation of a new tier of management in the company structure enabling them to build specialist teams of their own.
- Jan/Feb 2009 Mackenzie Stuart feels the effect of the global economic downturn consolidating their business, moving to more appropriate premises and adopting a more cautious strategy than their previously ambitious plans.
- May 2009 Year 4 provides a tough challenge not only financially but also culturally. Consolidation led to many friends and colleagues departing as part of the consolidation process. Despite this the performance has been steady and plans are put in place to take the business through the recession
- October 2009 The senior management team are issued with shares to recognize their performance and impact on the business not only over the last few years but more recently during tough times for the wider recruitment industry
- December 2009 Mackenzie Stuart re-brands and re-launches their website. Business plan put in place to capitalize on a solid first half of the year and a new recruitment campaign commences to expand the business
