Chris began his recruitment career in 1999 after graduating from Leeds University with a Degree in Business Studies. Joining a successful and well established Executive Search Consultancy and learning the ropes within the FMCG marketplace, he quickly established himself as one of the most successful consultants within his team, and demonstrated that he offered something that few of his colleagues could; honesty at all times and a very un-sales like approach to the recruitment process. This became a niche that Chris quickly used to his advantage, building strong relationships with several major clients within his sector and producing results that quickly gained the attention of his superiors.
In 2003 he was approached by two of the organisation’s senior managers and offered the opportunity to join them in setting up a new business, specialising in the Consumer Goods & Retail Markets and offering a more consultative and customer focused approach than the typical Executive Search firm. As one of seven individuals involved in founding this new Consultancy, Chris was quickly given responsibility for managing a team and played an integral part in creating one of the biggest success stories within the boutique consultancy market over the following 2 years.
In 2005 the Owner & Chief Executive of Mackenzie Stuart approached Chris, having employed him in his early career and offered him the opportunity to set up the Consumer Goods division within the newly created business. Over the following 4 and a half years Chris progressed from Business Manager through to Divisional Manager and finally Managing Director in 2008. Now taking sole responsibility for the running of the business from both a Commercial & Operational perspective, Chris has successfully lead the company through the most challenging economical climate of the past 20 years and has imparted his knowledge and experience to every member of staff throughout every level of the organisation. It is his approach to managing relationships with the highest levels of honesty and integrity that has become the cornerstone of Mackenzie Stuart’s culture and his unwavering confidence in the company’s ability to exceed expectations that has instilled such loyalty amongst our staff and ensured that our reputation within the market remains as positive as it does today.
