The Company
Mackenzie Stuart is working with a tier 1 national contractor who operate across the US in the ‘ground up’ Buildings sector. They are in the market for an Estimating Manager to join their Construction team in the Capital, helping to control construction preparation on a strong pipeline of up and coming projects.

The Role
* Provides leadership, guidance and expertise by defining, implementing and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices and procedures.
* Oversee a team of estimators on tenders ranging anywhere from $5m-$300m.
* Prepare construction budgets through updating specifications and identifying and projecting costs.
* Evaluate offers by costing changes, additions and site requirements.
* Specify materials, identify sub-contractors, and negotiate prices on bids.
* Help resolve cost discrepancies.
* Influence claim management negotiations.

Key Requirements
* At least 10 years’ experience in Estimating positions.
* Holds relevant qualifications with experience on any Buildings projects values over $10m.
* Strong reporting and estimating skills.
* Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling and sequencing.
* Ability to manage and lead teams.

The Role
* Leadership over 2-4 bids simultaneously.
* Resource management with a hands on approach to submission.
* Accountable for successfully securing new work valued between $5 – 200m.
* Provide strategic leadership for tenders.
* Heavily involved with all elements of the tenders including estimating, design, business development and bidding.
* Liaise with client and business development teams to understand client requirements.

Key Requirements
* At least 5 years’ experience within the relevant sectors.

THE CLIENT:
Mackenzie Stuart is working closely with a Top 10 multi-disciplinary main contractor which undertakes various major infrastructure projects throughout the UK. The business is looking to bring on board a Commercial Manager with significant experience delivering a portfolio of highways projects.

THE ROLE:
*The Commercial Manager will be responsible for leading a diverse team of 5 including procurement and QS team on a portfolio of highways services contracts across Southern Hampshire amounting roughly £25 Million per year.
*Support the bidding process including the negotiation of on to ensure compliance with the company’s procedures and favourable contract terms and conditions on technically complex and large projects.
*Full commercial and financial responsibility of the contracts to deliver over the next +5 years.
*Liaise with project support functions such as finance, supply chain, risk and ensure an all-round commercial service is maintained.
*Ensure that adequate records are maintained in respect of project issues and commercial management processes.
*Develop and operate strategies to maximise project revenues and cash flow in line with business polices.
*Ensure timely submission of all contractual notices and supporting data including robust payment applications.
*Support the board in delivering a holistic and best value service for similar projects to Local Governments Authority, County Councils and Highways England with particular emphasis on delivering civil engineering, maintenance and rebuilding frameworks.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
*Proven commercial leadership experience within the transport infrastructure industry across the UK.
*Strong people management skills with an ability to manage it post contract.
*Previous experience of managing senior commercial teams, working on contracts above circa £10 Million.
*It is not essential all applicants have a clear understanding of the highways industry, however it is advantageous.
*Ideally degree educated to QS or Commercial Management and being a member of RICS would be advantageous.
*Willing to travel across Southern Hampshire.

The organisation is looking to bolster its experience in P3s across North America, with several permanent commercial & bid manager roles. You will act as the commercial lead responsible for managing all commercial functions, bid development overseeing relevant systems and processes.
THE ROLE
*In response to the ongoing shift towards P3 projects in the US and Canada, the company is looking to bring on a commercial/bid manager to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
*Support the bidding process including the negotiation of to ensure compliance with the company’s procedures and favourable contract terms and conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*Hold commercial responsibilities for projects ranging between $100-750million.
*Acting as commercial and bid lead on large infrastructure projects on the D&B and Concessions side predominantly in the Northeast but also across the US.

*Over 5 years’ experience within the Rail or Infrastructure sectors. P3 infrastructure experience is a must, with rolling stock and/or rail systems experience preferred but not essential. Prior experience with a civil contractor is also preferred.
*Motivated, highly collaborative and exceptional team player, as the role is primarily team focussed, working in teams of up to 20 staff.
*Previous experience in a commercial and bidding role in the US or Canada.
*Previous experience working on contracts above $50m. It is essential all applicants have a clear understanding of commercial and project bidding processes.
*Fluency in English is required. Spanish is not required but may help with future plans.
*Hold an appropriate Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering, Business or Law.

The Client:
Mackenzie Stuart is working with a Top 10 Infrastructure Contractor specialising in heavy civil transportation projects who are currently looking to recruit a Construction Manager to operate on a major rail project in California.

The Role:
* Manage the construction of a +$500Million design-build passenger rail project.
* Work closely with the Project Executive to ensure construction coordination, scheduling, sub contract management and site work is held to a high standard and lead the project execution.
* Ensure the hazard analysis and methodology is adhered to.
* Liaise with operations Manager of the client and HSE/HSQ team to ensure all KPIs are hit and on target.
* The client is looking for a strong leader with experience managing staff from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures.

Key Requirements:
* Candidates will have a minimum of 10years experience and operated a construction manager role with a construction contractor.
* A Civil Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
* A strong working knowledge of the rail market having worked on electrification and signalling projects previously.
* The role holder must be willing to travel across California and work unsociable hours to complete the project on time.
* Executed rail Design-Build projects on the contractor side with experience in the heavy civil infrastructure industry.
* The incumbent will be responsible for identifying all staffing requirements within the project, and to ensure that recruits are of sufficient quality to meet high company standards.
* A well rounded engineering and operations background is necessary with existing relationships with the major DOT and Transport Authority clients in the region would be beneficial.
