Mackenzie Stuart is presently working closely with a leading Heavy Civil Contractor who are completing P3, Design Build and General Contracting heavy civil projects across North Eastern USA. They are seeking to appoint a Senior Estimator to work with the SVP Preconstruction on multiple +$200M projects.

The Role:
*Working closely with the Chief Estimator, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for oversight of major Highway, Bridge, Transit and Tunnelling  projects across North East USA.
*Leading the estimating of major bidding through to tendering process and into project delivery from an estimating capacity.
*Coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers about prospective work.
*Review bid documents, drawings and specifications.
*Meet clients, JV Partners, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
*Oversees and provides support to any number of projects from an operational, financial and resource standpoint.

Key Requirements:
*Degree educated in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
*7 years relevant construction experience.
*Strong track record of previous work on DB, P3 or Alternative Delivery methods of estimating preliminary design, conceptual and schematic design.
*Excellent communication skills with strong leadership and team motivation ability.
*Knowledge of MS Office, HeavyBid, Smartbid, Candy, Takeoff software would be advantageous.

THE BUSINESS

Mackenzie Stuart are working on behalf of a small but well established privately owned home building who are looking to strengthen their senior team. Currently producing 100 homes per year they are seeking the right candidate to deliver growth to 250- 300 per year over the next few years.

THE ROLE

  • The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the Purchasing and Construction functions, managing the Heads of each department as well as their teams
  • As “right hand man” to the President, you will implement new work processes and procedures to ensure an efficient running of the business, while scaling up operations to deliver or exceed the growth targets
  • Heavily involved in the strategic leadership of the company, the aim of the role is to form a viable succession plan to the President and ultimately be responsible for the overall running of the company

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate would be a current or previous VP of Operations, Purchasing, or Construction who has an appreciation of the broader disciplines of home building
  • An understanding of the challenges of working within a small builder, while able to bring new ideas and approaches that will ensure growth can be achieved
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, able to build and develop staff across multiple disciplines
  • The drive and ability to lead the organisation in future as part of the companies succession plan

THE ROLE:

  • Land Development lead responsible for the all land processes within the regional office, handling land purchasing for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Required to manage and handle budgets, contracts coinciding with deadlines.
  • Required to deal with various stages of land planning and developments including strategic and immediate.
  • Organised and prepared to make sure all processes run efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Land acquisition and development background with experience at Manager level.
  • Preferred local patch experience with focus on East Midlands and surrounding areas.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of surrounding areas along with a sufficient network of contacts.
  • Experience with negotiating budgets and contracts whilst meeting targets.
