Synopsis of Company
Mackenzie Stuart is working retained with an international manufacturer of large capital equipment. From a large industrial site in Poland they manufacture a range of vehicles used in the Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Mining, Quarrying and Construction markets.
The business has seen significant capital investment in both modernizing existing production capabilities and adding additional lines to expand the product portfolio. With the investment complete they are in the process of ramping up production and are committed to becoming a World Class Manufacturing facility.
Alongside improving technology the business is committed to cultural change. They are looking to employ forward thinking Manufacturing professionals with an in depth knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques, an appreciation of Quality Control and Six Sigma/lean manufacturing.
Plant Manager/Director Responsibilities;
Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
Coordinate all shifts, to ensure area is meeting production, quality and safety targets.
Ensure communication among the shifts is seamless and standardized including a set of weekly toolbox meetings for each shift, delivered by the Team Leaders; including safety topics, corporate messages, and procedural updates, etc.
Develop detailed plans for managing and communicating process changes
Develop business cases for capital & operational expenditures for departmental projects.
Execution of the weekly Production Plan, including labour load leveling, overtime management and variance tracking.
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or downtime
Commit to plant safety procedures
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
Address employees’ issues or grievances and collaborate with HR
