Role

Title: Corporate Internal Auditor

Positions directly responsible for: 2 Junior Auditors

Travel: Around 50% on a global basis, assignments are typically 2 weeks long

Location: North Italy

Responsibilities:

  • Be the number two of the Head of Internal Audit;
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of the annual audit plan;
  • Make amendments to the plan where required;
  • Be a hands on supervisor, travelling with your team to various destinations globally;
  • Conduct compliance audits based on Law 262/05 (Italian SOX) as well as operational and financial audits;
  • Utilising the support and work of your team, create assignment reports and present these to the senior management team;
  • Be a pivotal part in your teams professional development, coaching, training and providing support.

Mackenzie Stuart plc is currently recruiting for an ambitious and experienced Finance Specialist who will report into the Finance Director of a rapidly growing Solar and Wind Company. The Role is based in Rome, Italy. This role will offer unrivalled exposure to the senior management: therefore the candidate needs to be of the highest calibre, demonstrating commercial awareness in addition to having the required technical skills.

This organisation is looking to expand its activity and increase capacity following a sustained period of growth and the Finance Specialist will play a key role in helping the Finance function grow.

 

Responsibilities of the Finance Specialist:

  • Partial responsibility for financial reporting and strategic management, including Group reporting and budgetary control requirements
  • Responsible for the finance function – financial and management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts and working capital, including providing information on project costing, margins, revenue analysis, productivity, profitability etc
  • Liaising with key stakeholders including auditors and investors
  • Conducting analysis and due diligence
  • Managing third party project advisors and consultants;
  • Managing pipelines, deal sourcing mechanisms and processes;
  • The writing of quality, accurate reports, highlighting findings, conclusions and recommendations for review with relevant parties.

 

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field; MBA / CFA / Professional Designation preferred;
  • 3-5 years of work experience in Project Finance deals, specifically within renewable and clean energy.
  • Experience in building and managing intricate financial models, drafting and negotiating contracts, and drafting approval notes for investment and credit committees;
  • Experience in identifying and managing risks associated with Project Finance transactions

Mackenzie Stuart is working with one of the leading players in the global commodities industry. They are looking to employ the services of a Commodity Trading Auditor to join their team based in east Switzerland.

 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Report directly to the Internal Audit Manager
  • Plan and perform audits based around the companies global commodities trading activities
  • Create assignment reports, analysing potential shortfalls in the current audit and risk frameworks and providing suggestions for remediation
  • Present these reports to the Internal Audit Manager and to Senior Management within the audit and risk functions
  • Undertake ad-hoc assignments where required
  • Travel to various destinations on a global basis around 60% of the time. The typical audit assignment rotation is 2 weeks out of office, and then two weeks back in Switzerland.

 

Candidate requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years audit experience
  • University Degree educated
  • Experience within the commodities industry is a necessity
  • CA/ACA/CPA is highly desired
  • Big 4 training is preferable
  • CIA is preferable
  • Fluency in English is required, any additional language skills would be beneficial
  • Motivation to travel up to 60% internationally

The organisation is a multi-million 3PL, Freight Forwarding and Project Logistics provider with offices throughout Europe and North America. This role will be located in Rotterdam.

The successful candidate will be tasked with assisting in driving scaleable growth within the country while simultaneously ensuring the quality of financial outputs and that the finance team is fit for purpose and partnering with the business in an optimal manner.

Key  responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Country’s finance, accounting, payroll, IT, HR, tax and compliance functions and reporting to the Country Managment team and Regional Finance Management team
  • Leading the monthly and annual close process
  • Direct the preparation of the annual financial statements, including profit and loss accounts and balance sheets.
  • The development and continual further development of financial and accounting processes for the region
  • Work closely alongside the operations leaders and business heads to provide astute finance advice and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and revenue growth
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and IFRS regulations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar) desired – MBA desirable.
  • Qualified accountant preferable
  • Significant financial experience within the Logistics or Transportation sector within accounting with a clear focus on revenue management
  • Experience within larger multinationals is ideal, especially with relation to experience of cross-functional matrixed environments
  • Fluent Dutch and English desired
  • Excellent team management skills with proven experience in developing teams and improving performance

The organisation is an international firm with business interests primarily in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics space. They are a medium-sized multi-million € revenue MNC. The client has ambitions to rapidly grow within the Logistics space and this role-creation is part of building for scalable growth in order to support these ambitions.

This role will report into the Group Controller and the successful candidate will join a team of 4.

The responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the planning and budgeting of the income statement, balance sheet and income statement and cash flow
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements as well as the consolidated financial statements according to HGB and IFRS
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of the monthly financial data with reference to corporate strategy and make tangible suggestions in order to improve performance
  • Responsible for creating business cases on the basis of balance sheet and accounting, business analysis and forecasts
  • Ad-hoc project finance analysis when required

The responsibilities include:

  • Ideally currently operating as Controller for a small to medium-sized company within the Freight Forwarding or Logistics space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant controlling experience
  • Strong business case preparation experience and a general ‘all-rounder’ finance profile
  • High familiarity with HGB and IFRS
  • Fluent German and English

This organisation has undergone a recent transformation in the last twelve months and are looking to add an accomplished and leadership-focused Finance Director to their Washington DC based Finance & Accountancy department.

 

Responsibilities of the Finance Director include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Development of financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Analysis and presentation of complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to senior management for decision making purposes.
  • Management of treasury function in accordance with company policies.
  • Management of the debt management function to ensure compliance with company financial plan.
  • Co-ordination with different business units on the preparation of the forecast and long term projections.
  • Effective communication and presentation of the critical financial matters to the board of directors.

 

The preferred candidate will possess:
