Mackenzie Stuart is currently looking to recruit for the position of Director of Finance for an industry leading industrial automation and manufacturing organisation. The organisation is a global leader in their sector, offering excellent development and progression opportunities. The position is based in Germany and will report directly into the President of the Company. Candidates will ideally have experience working with C-Level members of a leading international organisation.

The organisation has grown significantly over the past few years and looking to continue this moving forwards. The successful candidate will therefore be heavily involved in the day-to-day operational work and play a key role in helping the organisation achieve the growth potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for all finance, accounting, taxation, treasury and IT processes.
  • Work with Senior Management to optimise the Group’s financial performance and strategic position.
  • Working with commercial and operational divisions as a key finance contact.
  • Working capital management inclusive of cash flow forecasting and management of funding requirements.
  • Leadership and development of the finance team, with solid succession planning and talent management.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, local GAAP and IFRS.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Educated to degree level with a focus in Accountancy, Finance, Business or Economics.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent – Big 4 training is preferred.
  • 10-20 years’ experience within an industrial/production focused industry.
  • An excellent communicator, confident and self-motivated, with good interpersonal and strong influencing skills.
  • Experience within a US-based organisation or working in the US highly desired.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Report directly to the IT Audit Manager;
  • Assist in the implementation of the annual audit plan;
  • Travel with your team to various destinations across the Midlands and London;
  • Conduct general controls reviews, applications reviews and projects reviews on various facets of the company;
  • Assist in the creation of assignment reports and in the presentation of these reports to management, where required;
  • Help establish a framework of best practice within the IT audit department;
  • Liaise with various other internal divisions and potentially external auditing teams, where required.

Title: Internal Audit Director

Location: Chicago

Industry: Manufacturing

Revenue: Mid Cap – Between $3 billion and $10 billion

Operations: Global, predominantly in North America.

Career progression opportunities: If successful you would be the no.2 to the VP of Internal Audit. The VP has said that they want to train this individual to take over their role in the future. However there are also options for career progression into wider finance roles within the company and their subsidiaries.

 

Role

Title: Internal Audit Director

Personnel management responsibilities: 9 individuals, 2 direct reports (Internal Audit Managers), 7 indirect reports (Senior and Junior Internal Auditors).

Travel: Around 35%

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Vice President of Internal Audit;
  • Together, with the Vice President of Internal Audit and the IT Audit Director, create and implement the annual audit plan;
  • Be responsible for all Financial, Operational, Compliance and Investigations audits across the company and its subsidiaries;
  • Be a hands on Director, travelling with your team to various destinations where required. You will often be responsible for executing multiple audits at once. Time spent at each location will be dependant on your perception of the need;
  • Utilising the support and work of your team, create assignment reports and present these to the Vice President of Internal Audit and to various individuals within the senior management team where required;
  • Be responsible for all SOX compliance on a group wide basis;
  • Be a pivotal part in your teams professional development, providing coaching, training, support and general mentorship;
  • Coordinate and manage visits from external consulting firms;
  • Combine having a strategic view of the overall audit and company objectives, with being knowledgeable of the details of ground level audit operations, to ensure the best decision is always made.

Mackenzie Stuart are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager with experience of both closed and open book contracts in the Logistics and Transportation space to join our international client.

This position is responsible for all financial controlling and accounting activities for the UK entity for the division and the Finance Manager will work directly alongside the Divisional Director, with a dotted line to the Finance Director.

The responsibilities include

  • Production of weekly management accounts and associated variance analysis and KPI reports
  • Production of customer periodic accounts, reporting pack and delivery of financial performance at customer reviews
  • Accurate completion of month end trading with full reconciliation of costs vs. customer invoices for all contracts
  • Production of customer budgets with full analysis to current spends and forecast
  • Ensure relevant financial controls are in place and ensure the integrity of financial audits – internal, external and customer
  • Overall responsibility for auditing site payroll process including accuracy of data capture and reconciliation of outputs to customer charges
  • Development of financial reporting models to support site management team to fully understand weekly cost performance and highlight areas for improvement
  • Review financial controls and develop simplified future processes for cost and income management
  • Supporting site process improvement, reporting and cost data capture
  • The development and leadership responsibility for a small team

The ideal candidate:

  • Must have recent Contract Logistics sector experience
  • Ideally currently operating as Finance Manager for a logistics provider with experience of both open and closed book contracts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent
  • Fully qualified or studying towards recognised finance qualification (e.g. CIMA/ACCA)
  • Able to work in a cross-functional team and challenge operations

About Our Client

Our client is a growing hotel company. The passion and ambition of their people are a critical component to their success.

The role will be overseeing the financial operations together with the Head of Finance Europe and also reporting into them.

The Finance Director – Germany based in Berlin will need to have the following experience:

 

  • 5+ years’ financial experience
  • Experience with HGB + IFRS
  • Fluent English and German
  • Ideally the person will have multiproperty experience in Hospitality

 

The position pays between €60-72k plus a 1 month bonus and there is potential for a car allowance.

 

 

Appropriate candidates will possess relevant experience, strong interpersonal skills and the drive to impress/succeed.
