Mackenzie Stuart is working with a Top 10 Infrastructure Contractor specialising in heavy civil transportation projects who are currently looking to recruit a Signal Manager to operate on a major rail project in California.
 

The Role:

* Manage and supervise the installation and testing of the signal system modifications on a +$500Million major Commuter Rail project.

* Direct the workforce in installing, upgrading and testing of systems and equipment including; Positive Train Control (PTC), Automatic Signals, Hazard Detectors, Highway-Rail Crossing Warning Systems and Interlocking.

* Ensure day to day inspection of completed work in accordance with plans, specifications and regulatory compliance.

* Liaise with the Project Manager to address safety related issues and ensure a safe work environment.

* Provide engineering support to key staff and client.

 

Key Requirements:

* A minimum of 10 years’ experience in railroad systems construction/maintenance on major rail projects.

* 5 years’ experience as a signal maintainer or signal technician.

* A knowledge of railroad signal best practises and signal testing.

* A knowledge of highway-rail grade crossing warning systems and equipment.

* A knowledge of ATCS, PTC and Centralized Traffic Control equipment and system technology.

* Excellent communication, writing and computer literacy skills.

Mackenzie Stuart is working with a Top 10 Infrastructure Contractor specialising in heavy civil transportation projects who are currently looking to recruit a Construction Manager to operate on a rail major project in California.
The Role:

* Manage the construction of a +$500Million major design-build Rail project.

* Work closely with the Project Executive to ensure construction coordination, scheduling, sub contract management and site work is held to a high standard and lead the project execution.

* Ensure day to day management of safety, quality, environmental, engineering/design compliance for the project.

* Liaise with operations Manager of the client and HSE/HSQ team to ensure all KPIs are hit and on target.

* The client is looking for a strong leader with experience managing staff from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures.

* The incumbent will be responsible for identifying all staffing requirements within the project, and to ensure that recruits are of sufficient quality to meet high company standards.

* This position will require close working relationships across the disciplines to ensure a profitable, safe and high quality project that fully adheres to client expectations.

Key Requirements:

* Candidates will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience and operated a construction manager role.

* An Engineering or equivalent.

* A strong working knowledge of the rail industry having worked on electrification and signalling projects previously.

* The role holder must be willing to travel across California and work unsociable hours to complete the project on time.

* Executed rail Design-Build projects on the contractor side with experience in the heavy civil infrastructure industry.

* A well rounded engineering and operations background is necessary with an understanding of DOT and Transport Authority regulations would be beneficial.

THE ROLE

  • Reporting to the Commercial Director the role will be an integral part of the regional commercial team
  • Operating within a 400 unit, £90m region the Surveyor will be tasked with supporting the commercial function across all live developments with a particular focus on a new large development.
  • Leading sites from their early stages the successful candidate will be responsible for all costs relating to the construction works from preparing estimates to final figures
  • The role will involve on-going cost analysis, arranging payments, risk evaluations, and forecasts

REQUIREMENTS

They seek to bring on board an experienced Executive Project Director to oversee a major Rail projects in the West USA . The Role:

  • As the face of the organisation, the incumbent will lead on pursuits and project delivery on $250M – $500M Design & Build/PPP Rail & Transit projects across Western USA.
  • Lead client interaction both with Engineers, Consultants and Government Authorities.
  • Full P&L project responsibility leading a highly motivated team to deliver major complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Liaise with the Practice Manager and Team Leaders to ensure we have sufficient resources with the right skills to deliver our current and future market strategies.
  • Coordinate material purchases, assure that subcontractor agreements are prepared and change orders are accurate and issued to owners, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Sit as member of the board for the particular project(s).
  • Full responsibility for staffing of the project.
  • Responsible to the Executive Vice President and Regional Leadership Team.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent.
  • +15 years minimum extensive experience within the Transit/Rail industry.
  • Demonstrable leadership and a proven track record of successful delivery on +$500M Design-Build, Bid Build or PPP project.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for identifying all staffing requirements within the project, and to ensure that recruits are of sufficient quality to meet high company standards.
  • Good communication skills to interface with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills having previously worked with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.
