Mackenzie Stuart is currently recruiting for a dynamic Treasury Analyst who will work alongside a UK based finance team for one of the UK’s largest and most reputable construction companies. The role is based in Bedfordshire with occasional travel in the South East.

 

Responsibilities of the Treasury Analyst will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Reporting directly to the head of Group Treasury on all necessary finance matters
  • Management of cash and Treasury risk
  • Supporting the Head of Treasury with ad-hoc projects as required
  • Preparing Draft of monthly and annual Treasury Board report
  • Providing key financial analysis to support a number of significant construction projects
  • FX Risk Management
  • Management of global cash and liquidity
  • Supporting SOX and process controls for Treasury and Accounting teams

 

The preferred candidate will have:

 

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or finance
  • 2 Years Treasury Experience is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills are essential
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • ERP familiarity, ideally with Oracle and (or) SAP products
  • Comprehensive understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Products

Financial Controller – UK

Mackenzie Stuart is currently recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller who will work alongside a UK based finance team for a leading House Building Company. The Role is based in Bedfordshire with occasional travel in the South East.

 

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Reporting directly to the companies Group Financial Controller on a regular basis for necessary financial and accounting activities.
  • Taking on management responsibility for a finance team, providing mentoring and support as and when required.
  • Preparing and the review of core business KPI’s.
  • Gauge performance of core business units through the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Report any variances to Executive Finance team.
  • Monthly and Quarterly review of income, expenditure, profit and cash flow.
  • Preparing of annual reports and accounts and liaising with external auditors as required for the annual audit.

 

The preferred candidate will have:

 

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • 3 + Years within the Construction Industry
  • 5 + Years in Financial Role
  • Managerial Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics or finance (Preferable)
  • Comprehensive understanding with Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Products
  • Experience using COINS (Preferable)
  • Strong verbal skills are essential

The Role:

  • Manage environmental permitting, regulatory strategy development, environmental field surveys, and construction compliance for a variety of energy-related projects, including, but not limited to, regulated and non-regulated pipeline projects, tank terminals, wind farms, power plants, and hydroelectric projects.
  • Manage environmental survey subcontractors and environmental firms assigned to project phases.
  • Develop and maintain environmental policy and procedures manuals for compliance assurance throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Manage the permitting of projects including air permitting, refinery permitting and regulatory negotiations, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitting, and other state and federal permitting.
  • Manage firms conducting wetland delineations, TE habitat characterization, land use mapping and vegetation cover classification, GPS data collection, permitting and report preparations with USACE, United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), and state and county agencies.
  • Manage the completion of subsurface investigations of soil and groundwater at proposed properties.
  • Ensure overall performance and accuracy of documents prepared for environmental services in accordance with National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) guidelines as applicable.
  • Oversee the preparation of biological assessments for Section 7 ESA consultation requirements.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates for existing and new client contracts.

The Requirements:

We are looking to speak with candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Degree educated in appropriate discipline (Biological/Environmental Sciences, Geology, other).
  • 10-15 years of experience
  • Experience managing the permitting, environmental consulting or NEPA documentation for oil and gas pipeline, power, or power line projects exceeding $1 million.
  • Advanced understanding of environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable regulatory associations: Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and acceptable techniques of business development and managing client relationships.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation related to the environmental projects and the energy services industry.
  • Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.
  • Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid and tendering offers.
  • Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability.

THE BUSINESS

Mackenzie Stuart is working on behalf of one of the leading electric utility contractor in the US. This recognised company provide a broad range of services including electrical engineering and design for Transmission & Distribution facilities, maintenance and construction of electric and gas T&D facility. Due to continuous growth, the company are looking for an Area Manager to help the expanding operations in the North East of the United States.

THE ROLE

  • Reporting to a Director of Power Operations.
  • Responsible for all T&D projects including overhead and underground construction, procurement and design lines of work.
  • Perform marketing and sales activities.
  • Responsible for implementing company safety programs.
  • Develop business relationships with customers, unions, subcontractors, vendors,
  • Day-to-day direction for the operations of construction
  • Manages relations with IBEW Local Unions

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in construction within the power utility business.
  • Proven record of running large projects.
  • Ideally have a college degree with extensive field experience in the power industry.
  • Experience working with electric utilities is desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
