This individual will be responsible for developing, controlling and enhancing all aspects of the projects:
• Developing project strategy in collaboration with the senior leadership team.
• Lead the implementation and execution of that strategy.
• Proactively drive the project’s operational strategies and capacity to ensure the operational aspect of that region for the success of the projects and company.
• Behaves as an influential member of the management team, facilitating strategic planning and addressing critical challenges and opportunities to develop and engage the work force.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related advanced degree.
• 7+ years of construction project management experience.
• 5+ years of high-end, luxury residential construction experience.

*Prepare/review accurate quality take offs, breakdowns and material pricing.
*Prepare/review bid packages, drawings and specifications with the project management team.
*Coordinate with clients, JV Partners, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.

Key Requirements:

Mackenzie Stuart are currently working on behalf of one of the most reputable names within the Building Materials sector for a Corporate FP&A Director. The role will be based in Florida, with regular travelling within North America required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to potentially move into a Divisional CFO role within 3 years.

Responsibilities of the Corporate FP&A Director will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reporting directly to a Divisional CFO and Group Commercial Finance Director.
  • Managerial Responsibility – you will oversee and mentor members of the commerical finance team, providing support and guidance when necessary.
  • Active engagement on M&A projects, including identifying and assessing potential acquisition targets, evaluation of strategic fit, due-diligence review, structuring and negotiating transactions, and synergy assessment.
  • Analyse trends in the Building Materials industry and actions taken by key competitors.
  • Present findings to the Board of Director and Executive Finance Team.

 

The preferred candidate will have:

  • CPA / Chartered Accountancy Qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related subject – Masters preferred.
  • 5 Years in Senior Finance Role.
  • BIG 4 Training / Experience (Preferred).
  • Successful track record in leading M&A projects from identification to completion.
  • Experience managing more junior finance professionals.
  • ERP familiarity, ideally with SAP, Oracle and Hyperion.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office User – Excel and PowerPoint.

Finance Manager, Toronto – Canada

Salary – $80,000 -$120,000

Mackenzie Stuart is looking to recruit a Finance Manager for an industry leading company in the Building Materials sector . The role will be based in Toronto, Canada with regular international travel possible. The successful candidate will report the National Finance Director.

Responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Reporting directly to the National Finance Director.
  • Supporting the company in all aspects of finance related topics, including forecasting, budgeting, KPI analysis, Aquisition identification and CAPEX management.
  • Managerial Responsibility with at least 3 direct reports – you will be able to support and mentor members of your team, and improve the finance division as a whole.
  • Gauge performance of core business units through the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Report any variances to Executive Finance team.
  • Monthly and Quarterly review of income, expenditure, profit and cash flow.
  • Preparing of annual reports and accounts and liaising with external auditors as required for the annual audit.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Chartered Accountancy Qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) – Big 4 training would be preferable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or engineering.
  • 3 Years minimum experience in construction industry, 5 years would be preferable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills are essential.
  • Proven success in Managerial role.
  • ERP familiarity, ideally with SAP products
  • Comprehensive understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Products

THE BUSINESS

Mackenzie Stuart is working on behalf of one of the leading electric utility contractor in the US. This recognised company provide a broad range of services including electrical engineering and design for Transmission & Distribution facilities, maintenance and construction of electric and gas T&D facility. Due to continuous growth, the company are looking for an Area Manager to help the expanding operations in the North East of the United States.

THE ROLE

  • Reporting to a Director of Power Operations.
  • Responsible for all T&D projects including overhead and underground construction, procurement and design lines of work.
  • Perform marketing and sales activities.
  • Responsible for implementing company safety programs.
  • Develop business relationships with customers, unions, subcontractors, vendors,
  • Day-to-day direction for the operations of construction
  • Manages relations with IBEW Local Unions

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in construction within the power utility business.
  • Proven record of running large projects.
  • Ideally have a college degree with extensive field experience in the power industry.
  • Experience working with electric utilities is desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
