Operations Manager – Food Ingredients

Colorado – USA

Makenzie Stuart is collaborating with a Food Ingredients manufacturer in the biotechnology space to seek an Operations Manager. The position requires the ability to monitor and improve all manufacturing processes through observations and measurements of other technical and personnel. Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manager all plant operations, using product data to continuously optimise manufacturing capacity and costs.
  • Implementing leadership to both supervisor and teams via production and maintenance, ensuring safe operations and a strong safety culture
  • Monitor and evaluate overall plant performance to meet production and safety standards with other departments:
    • Maintenance
    • Engineering
    • Supply chain
    • Quality
  • Responsible for controlling and minimising labour overtime, utility costs and repair expenses, via implementing cost effective systems for control and operational expenditures
  • Facilitate produces that ensure new S&OPS are developed when required, keeping existing processes related to documents up to date

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5+ years in operational management within food, beverage or fermentation.
  • Experience within sanitary or aseptic design
  • Experience within plant-based proteins, manufacturing plan designs.
  • Exceptional leader skills within communications, implement culture and mentoring/developing employees.
  • Always adhering with safety awareness and safety procedures, SOPS.
  • Ability to make critical decisions through reviewing and analysing processes.

THE BUSINESS

Our client is a digitally focused, fragrance technology business that serves a dynamic range of markets from consumer goods to environmental services. They are growing rapidly and are looking to expand the team to meet demand & increasing activity across all divisions within the business.

ROLE

  • Using creative thinking & storytelling capabilities to push consumer-driven marketing demonstrating the power of fragrance to a wide audience
  • Drive meaningful insights into the business and product strategy based on market trends and consumer research, identifying new opportunities for growth
  • Presenting annual plans for launches & innovations to support sales targets
  • Lead the development of line extensions from concept ideation to the final result
  • Create engaging marketing material from fragrance descriptions, stories and digital blogs
  • Develop strong relationships with fragrance house partners to drive innovation & product development
  • Support product licensing efforts through identifying brands of interest, creating compelling presentation pitches and launching successful agreements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing role, ideally with fragrance industry experience
  • Creative thinking & storytelling capabilities with a genuine passion for fragrance
  • Experience telling engaging product stories across digital & traditional sales channels
  • Understanding of digital channels & excellent communication skills is a must

Responsibilities

– Responsibility for entire Colour business in the relevant market sector. Specific focus on Bakery, Confectionary and Dairy.

– New customer acquisition with exciting activities for Colorants.

– Definition and implementation of market strategy incl. coordination of annual budgets for own areas.

– Market and competition monitoring, identification of new business opportunities.

– Regular customer visits and calls, both directly and together with other sales colleagues.

– Report documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce).

– Provide technical support to customers in the development of new formulations and applications.

Qualifications

– Bachelors Degree in related fields.

-Experience in the Colour and/or similar industry.

– Strong experience in the overall food and nutrition industry.

Mackenzie Stuart is working in close partnership with a privately-owned international provider of Testing, Inspection & Certification services. Due to rapid and consistent business growth, we are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager for Food TIC services based in Hamburg, Germany.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement sales & business development strategy for food testing, inspection & certification services across Europe to ensure company’s sales & profitability targets are met.
  • Work with marketing & other business development teams to promote strategic areas of business & identify new revenue streams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for key accounts in order to drive top line revenue.
  • The maintenance and development of relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • The provision of timely and accurate information on competitive pricing of the company’s activities and assistance in the development and maintenance of price lists and pricing strategies to ensure achievement of the company’s financial targets and objectives.
  • Assist with the development of sales & business development budgets and the assumption of responsibility for the achievement of those budgets with the agreed portfolio of clients

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, Germany
  • Must hold a BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in the TIC industry
  • Experience with food safety/quality is preferable
  • Must have 10 years proven sales & business development experience
  • Must be familiar with & have experience using Salesforce
  • Excellent written & verbal English & German communication skills

The expected salary for this role would be in the region of €80,000 – €120,000 plus bonus and additional benefits.
