This is a new role, formed to aid the company’s expansion with creative ideas and innovations.

 

THE ROLE

 

  • Manage and direct the formulation and innovation of raw ingredients
  • Develop useful new raw materials from the basic research phase to experimental plans proposed by the management
  • Propose ideas and concepts on new formulas, attending meetings with customers, tradeshows and team members
  • Evaluate formula and improve existing products to complete projects according to timetable and in-line with regulations

About you:

As a flavorist confectionery foods you will join this global organisations creative and international flavorist team and report to the and reports to the Technical Director C&A, Innovation SPO EAME.

You will work on on reactive projects for the whole EAME region with focus on Western European Coordinated, Regional and local Food clients which do represent the market leader in their segments.

To be successful in this role you have strong experience in flavor creation within the food or ingredient industry. You are specialized in the design of flavors for confectionery, chewing gum and bakery and you have a good knowledge of mint from oil to flavors.

You understand regional taste differences & preferences and you are able to translate customer needs into flavour technology solutions. This company will be looking for you to drive innovation and creativity, hereby assisting our customers to enhance their existing product line and successfully launch new products in the marketplace.

You have a four year degree ( BS/BA) in science (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences etc.) Preferred is  a Master degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Food Engineering and/or Chemistry Engineering

You will spend your time…

  • Works independently & as team member on all brief types.
  • Working closely with sales on a regional level to drive creation & modification of winning flavors.
  • Interacting with customers on commercial projects and leading technical presentations
  • Providing flavorist input into category initiatives & Platforms of Excellence

  • Develop and lead proactive research projects, partnering with Marketing and Research & Technology, that applies consumers’ added value flavor experiences to guide future flavor design and technologies.
  • Initiate and lead Cross-Category research projects aligned with medium to long-term Strategy.
  • Develop and implement new SCI tools and methods leveraging new technologies that are efficient in execution, are valid predictors of consumer behavior, and add value to business.
  • Lead the global best practices roll out and maintenance by leveraging the Global SCI network
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external parties, including companies, agencies, and universities, to access the latest concepts, techniques and technology to keep up with emerging advances, and extend and advance SCI capability to meeting project goals.

Education and Experience

  • PhD or equivalent in sensory science/consumer science
