Mackenzie Stuart is working with one of the leading global molecular diagnostics organizations. They are looking for an account executive in California who will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with key decision owners, laboratory personnel and physicians in the targeted hospitals and laboratories, in addition to developing the US market and grow profitable sales in the designated territory.



Our client is an innovative molecular diagnostics company committed to revolutionize molecular testing. They provide next generation diagnostic solutions, aimed at improving clinical practice for the benefits of patients, clinicians, payers and the healthcare industry, with a focus in oncology which represents the fastest growing segment of the MDx market worldwide.

My client drives innovation and leadership in all diagnostic-rated areas where its platforms and assay technologies are required. They offer tests supporting lung cancer, colorectal and melanoma, as well as tests for SARS=CoV-2 and sepsis. Their platform is fully automated sample-to-result, real-time PCR system that offers accurate, highly reliable molecular information from any biological sample, in any setting, allowing fast and effective treatment selection and treatment progress monitoring.



The Account Executive will have many responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Ensure sales volume, revenue and product mix and meet the agreed business plan in own territory and engage with other Account Executives to meet common team goals;
  • Monitor sales performance and devise corrective action plans where necessary;
  • Develop, maintain and execute an annual business plan for the territory;
  • Maintain key account plans to maximize business at major accounts;
  • Meet and exceed projected sales targets;
  • Attend sales meeting and when required, organize and attend local exhibitions;
  • Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations;
  • Ability to identify key decision makers and navigate complex processes;
  • Ability to successfully prospect and forecast.

A successful Account Executive will focus on growing profitable sales and achieving overall sales objectives as well as other defined performance metrics.


Candidate Requirements

The suitable candidate must have knowledge of the diagnostic market, preferably molecular diagnostics and/or pathology and a minimum of 3 years of solution selling experience. A bachelor’s degree in a scientific orientation is preferred or equivalent through experience. Moreover, the candidate must have experience working independently with little supervision.

Additionally, to meeting these qualifications, the candidate will also possess a combination of the following: strong presentation and negotiation skills, relationship building skills, business development skills, proficient PC skills and applied knowledge of the molecular market and local market.
