Company Overview:

The hiring company, headquartered in mainland Europe, is gearing up for the launch of a new office in the United Kingdom. Specializing in the wine and spirits industry, they collaborate closely with wineries, distilleries, and packaging design agencies. They are currently in search of a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead an expansion in the UK, with a particular focus on the south of England.

Position Summary:

As the UK Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our growth journey. Your responsibilities will revolve around devising and implementing business strategies to establish our presence in the UK market. This will involve active engagement with wineries, distilleries, and packaging design agencies. You will lead the charge in nurturing client relationships, expanding our customer base, optimizing client engagement, and providing hands-on guidance in project development and account management.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting to successfully closing deals with both inbound and outbound leads, meeting sales targets and objectives.
  • Cultivate enduring relationships with wineries, distilleries, and packaging design agencies.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize business agreements with clients and partners, ensuring mutually advantageous terms.
  • Travel frequently to wineries, distilleries, and packaging design agencies primarily across England, as well as occasional trips to our headquarters for quarterly meetings.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking activities to boost our brand and generate qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to tailor our products and services to meet the specific needs and trends of the UK market.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to spot growth opportunities and emerging business sectors.
  • Develop and execute business expansion strategies for the UK market
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues based in the UK territory and report to the Sales Director.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in the alcoholic beverage or related industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, adept at managing multiple responsibilities and projects effectively.
  • Availability for frequent travel within London and occasional trips to other locations as required to fulfill agendas and schedules.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal connections, along with a track record of successful negotiations.
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to identify growth avenues and adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, or a relevant field (advanced degrees are a plus).
