Divisional Director – Packaging Coatings, Construction Chemicals & Industrial Coatings

Mackenzie Stuart is working in close partnership with an international Coatings Manufacturer who are currently looking for a Business Director to expand & manage all three Business Units across Europe, ME, Africa & Central America

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead all 4 Business Units across 4 continents compiling 8 production sites of Commercial, Technical & Operational activity
  • Sites consist of R&D formulation staff, Customer Service & Commercial Acumen across Central Europe, ME, Africa & Central America
  • Be the point of contact for all Commercial & Operational-related matters across the value chain
  • Support and guide both sales and engineering staff
  • To determine current requirements and trends, you will maintain contact with customers, some of whom are world market leaders, as well as with end customers and suppliers
  • Responsible of local road map creation according to the group strategy of fast and profitable growth, ensuring we utilise the market potential and ensuring its delivery/execution
  • Understand the market, competition landscape and ensure resources to fulfil those opportunities
  • Supervise the implementation and actively communicate the values, vision and strategy and ensure that these are understood by all employees with local roadmap context
  • Ensure the company is legally and ethically compliant and acting in accordance to the code of conduct
  • Reporting of progress, of issues rising before they become problems and of opportunities found in addition to the roadmap
  • Searching and fining new opportunities for the company’s evolvement
  • Constantly improving the processes and build success stories, share those and enable others in the group to learn from both successes and failures (sparring partner)
  • New strategic opportunities creation, upholding and negotiations
    sustainability, environmental initiatives, product portfolio and innovation needs are brought to the Groups attention
  • Manage local & global sales and takes the ownership of local customers entire customer experience from opportunity to aftercare and continuously improves this
  • Compliance to Group directives, instructions and rules are carried out
    Continuous development and improvement of both personnel and processes

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be located close to Spain – Barcelona, with home based office
  • Must be Bilingual in English with Negotiation Spanish is preferred
  • MSc in a Business related field or related. PhD preferred
  • Deep expertise in speciality chemicals, preferably with application into Metal Packaging Coatings, Construction Chemicals & Industrial Coatings
  • Must possess a high level of leadership acumen and the ability to think strategically and influence decisions at a high level
    working relationships with sales, manufacturing, and customers
  • Be able to communicate assertively, effectively, and credibly across all levels of the organisation

The expected salary for this role would be in the region of €180,000 – €200,000 plus bonus’

Salary Range

€180,000 - 200,000
