Global Market Development Manager (Remote) – Industrial Valves, Measurement & Instrumentation (Chemicals)

Mackenzie Stuart is working exclusively with a Global Valve & Instrumentation Manufacturer who are currently looking for a Global Market Development Manager to drive Commercial Strategy & Business Development for their Control Valve & Instrumentation Portfolio within the Chemical Industry.

The Global Market Development Manager will be responsible for;

  • This role is a mix of Commercial Strategy & Technical/Operational responsibilities globally
  • Driving Strategic Growth via long term Business Development facilitating high customer intimacy, strong partnership with global sales forces & Global Product Management
  • Assist Global Sales teams in the development of the Chemical industry specific new product introductions & assist technologies specialist Business Development team
  • Approach Global Operational tasks with a ‘Hands on’ & ‘Holistic’ approach to Business Development & Market Development support; Customer Visits, Solution Sales, Long term BD Strategy Plans, Application Developments & Sales Campaigns
  • Support Global Sales force with Sales & Marketing tools to achieve Double Digit Growth for Business Unit, identify Growth Plans & Sales Campaigns to support long term BD Cycles
  • Engage in Business Development activities to support Sales Growth & Solve Customers problems
  • Implement Global Chemical Specific Commercial strategies in alignment with Groups Sales targets; 5-year Strategic Plan to increase Sales, Profitability, Product Service offerings & road map ownership
  • Liase with Cross-functional departments (Business Development, Market Managers, Product Management & Direct Sales) & drive application knowledge with strong feedback, teamwork & communication skills
  • Through regular research and contact with Operating Companies & their customers, obtain understanding of regional & global process applications: Key Decision Makers, Repeatable Solutions & customer drivers and relay this to Global Sales Force such as E-learning tools, Application Knowledge & Repeatable Solutions
  • Regularly measure, monitor, report and forecast on Strategic developments, Industry sales/profit and the business environment
  • Build relationships with Industry bodies to understand important industry trends and incorporate these into the chemical team
  • Implement strategies that will support sustainable, profitable & double-digit sales growth in line with sales targets, by focusing on the Chemical market
  • Implement Customer Value Propositions making sure they reflect the language & culture of prospected clients and current customers and application used within the Chemical industry
  • Assist Sales & Marketing strategies & trainings
  • Support current Sales transformation to sector specific approach, identify new customer applications or important technologies and feed to Product Development & Sales Force
  • Understand market opportunity, where and how to sell & deliver initially sales success and embed strategic & sales capacity
  • Collaborate with Cross-functions supporting development of the Chemical market & NPD Requirements
  • Support M&A targets & Process’ and support sales with C-Level co-development relationships


Candidate Requirements:

  • This position is a remote position ideal candidate can be located in the US, Europe or Asia Pacific
  • Have a deep understanding of the Chemical (Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceutical & Consumers) market with specific expertise within Flow Control and OR Instrumentation related technologies and their application i.e. Valves, Valve Automation, Measurement/Analytical, Process Automation / Pneumatics
  • Have a deep understanding of Industry Trends, Customer problems, needs & Solutions to enhance Customer value and satisfaction
  • You have at least 5 years commercial experience in a technical field with a significant component in an international business environment, preferably Industrial Valve AND/OR Flow Control and OR Instrumentation related technologies and their application i.e. Valves, Valve Automation, Measurement/Analytical, Process Automation / Pneumatics
  • Hit the ground running and make be a key player for the Business Development department
  • Strong Marketing Background (Strategic, Business Marketing / Digital)
  • Acquire Sales experience to end users, Chemical OEM’s and OR Contractors
  • You have experience in a management position, responsible for managing and developing a team of people, either direct or indirect; a couple of years’ experiences in an international product management, business development, marketing or general management role is a strong asset
  • You can rely on technical / commercial education: B.Eng OR Business/Marketing related Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Marketing/BA)
  • MBA OR M.E / MSc AND / OR PhD is recognized
  • You are an excellent communicator, autonomous leader, self-driven, bridge builder, Loyal, Passionate, Team player, Credible, Holistic, People & Customer focused Commercial Savvy with a strong Technical head, East manner, Emotionally Intelligent & cross-cultural who has a strong work ethic
  • You are fluent in English, two languages are a bonus and recognised
  • You are willing to travel once a month to Customers around the globe; US, Europe, Midde East/APAC
