Head of Regulatory Compliance

Mackenzie Stuart is working on behalf of one of the UK’s largest dairy-based ingredients suppliers, in the search of an ambitious, talented Head of Regulatory Compliance to join their UK Senior Leadership team. This newly created position recognises the critical role that food safety, quality assurance and compliance plays within the Industry and this organization believe that technical excellence will play a significant part to their continued growth and differentiate them from the competition.

Reporting directly to the Head of DFI UK you will lead the DFI UK Technical teams, ensuring the facilities produce product in a safe compliant environment. You will equally play a key role in building relationships internally and externally that challenge and support technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development of a rigorous and compliant Quality Management System, which reflects the site’s commitment to Food Safety Legality and Quality and satisfies customer requirements. Ensure the system satisfies BRC standards and those of our customers with a progressive and industry leading approach.
  • Work closely with Group Quality & Regulatory and appropriate trade associations to keep informed of ongoing regulatory developments
  • Lead quality improvement processes to achieve the highest quality standards in line with appropriate regulations. Act as the quality and regulatory lead internally and externally dealing with customers, suppliers and external agencies inspectors on site quality and compliance issues
  • Ensure all issues relating to safety or legality of product are identified and communicated to the Head of DFI UK for review and closure at a strategic level. Ensure that a fully implemented microbiological testing plan is active across the sites to ensure adequate due diligence.

You will have significant and demonstrable experience within a senior management Technical role with experience of the food industry essential, ideally within dairy / cheese manufacture and composition. With experience of working autonomously to lead and influence compliance and best practice across all quality processes you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in related degree discipline; Food Science, Microbiology, Food technology.

Already working at a senior level, you will demonstrate a broad business awareness outside of your technical specialism and have experience of leading and driving change within a dynamic business environment. A strong communicator you will build relationships, working cross functionally and externally to support a high performing Quality Culture across the organisation.
