Product Specialist

Role:

  • Responsible for all product development activities including NPD and line extensions from concept to commercialisation
  • Team management
  • Ensure execution of plans and achievement of results by providing leadership and technical expertise to drive new product development and solutions for our customers
  • Process and technology development activities including identifying issues in the plant
  • Develop and execute technical plans including experimental design, conducting research, collecting, and analysing data
  • Communicate project status internally and externally, generating reports, technical specifications, supporting plant trials and product launches
  • Assess emerging new technologies to further develop the protein and fat portfolio meeting strategic growth plans
  • Collaborate with customers in application development projects identifying market needs and new opportunities for our existing food portfolio
  • Support the commercial and marketing process providing detailed product knowledge and expertise
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures

Requirements:

  • +8 years R&D industry experience across food ingredients & agriculture
  • Educated to MSc or PHD level – science related field
  • Knowledge of animal derived proteins & enzymes
  • Proven track record in leading projects
  • Competent around food manufacturing equipment
  • Autonomous individual with high levels of attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a hands-on mentality
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Ability to travel freely within the UK & internationally
