Research and Development Director – Advanced Materials

  • A leading advanced materials manufacturer focused on thermally and electrically conductive adhesives, laminates and prepregs, ceramic substrates and cooling solutions for the connectivity, telecoms and power generation industries
  • Leading R&D efforts to deliver product innovations which capitalize on target opportunities in the marketplace in close collaboration with commercial leadership teams

Job Description: Reporting to the CTO, her/his responsibilities will include:

  • Establish R&D business goals to support short and long term technology strategies and plans
  • Lead product development teams to develop and acquire desired technologies and deliver new product innovations based on market needs
  • Collaborate with innovation center and business development teams to leverage capabilities in new markets and with new customers
  • Act as a technology expert on capabilities, trends and opportunities which can be leveraged to maintain and gain technology leadership in key markets
  • Lead efforts to develop technology road-maps
  • Drive standardization of R&D processes and implement best practices across the company
  • Take ownership of continuous improvement practices to consistently improve results in delivering technology
  • Lead and motivate a team of high performing Scientists and Engineers across the US

The Successful Applicant: Our customer is looking for a professional with the following background and experience:

  • Technical university degree (MSc/Phd) : chemistry, polymer science, material sciences, or similar;
  • proficiency in English language;
  • Must have at least 10 years’ experience in R&D/New Product Development
  • Must have +5 years’ experience leading teams of engineers/scientists
  • Experienced in material science and their applications
