Technical Sales Manager – Aerospace Coatings

The Successful Applicant: Our client is looking for a professional with the following background and experience:

Personal requirements:

  • Must be Bachelor’s educated in Science or Business (MBA/M.S. or Ph.D. Analytical Chemistry preferred)
  • In addition to being educated to degree level, you have already gained extensive experience within the Aerospace industry of >5 years in technical capacity of Sales and/or Business Development
  • You have excellent communication skills and you are proficient with MS Office & master Data Analysis techniques
  • Understand the operating and manufacturing complex analytical instrumentation utilised in manufacturing & operation within Aerospace Coatings
  • Proven ability to understand the high demand across industry, such as commercial, military, and MRO segments
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the communication of technological implications of Aviation & Aerospace applications
  • Proven ability to understand global aerospace coatings market trends, characteristics & requirements specifically with end-users & user types
  • Proven ability to understand market drivers that effect commercial segmentation and specific driving factors such as airline developments and current expansion of existing airlines
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic production/manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in the U.S without sponsorship

Job description: Reporting to Sales Director:

  • Ensure brand is adhering to strategic business plans and targets & track competitor’s cliental globally within the aerospace coatings markets
  • This position will be responsible for developing and leading B2B sales & strategy, identifying and building relationships on an national level
  • Expand & develop existing business within the Aerospace Network
  • Maximise customer product portfolio to increase sales opportunities and profitability
  • Be responsible of all the technical aspects in manufacturing plant (e.g. demonstrating new products and technical processes and training)
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, cross-functional & multi functional colleagues, end-users and other influences in the market
  • Be responsible for the coordination of pricing actions, monitor competitor’s activities, and execute programs as defined in BU plans
  • This position is a key role in the organisation and offers a high level of visibility and responsibility
  • It is an individual contributor role that requires a highly resourceful, autonomous individual with strong business acumen, communication and interpersonal skills

You will be responsible for:

  • For identifying, developing and managing new/existing business opportunities
  • Develop a trusted advisory relationship with primary accounts, key stakeholders and critical decision makers
  • Communicate effectively with technical staff and senior management on the status of priority accounts and ongoing projects
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customers’ operations and determine technical needs
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivering of our solutions to the customer
  • Document and track the progress of all accounts, opportunities, lab projects, samples and account communication
  • Negotiate pricing agreements and contracts in accordance with internal guidelines
  • Respond quickly to customer requests and maintain a professional demeanour when handling all matters
  • Forecast and track key business metrics to develop individual business plan
  • Assist and collaborate with other sales team members on opportunities related to your specific technical experience and knowledge
