VP of R&D – Dietary Supplements

Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with a contract manufacturer of dietary supplements, partnering with some global leading brands in the health and wellness space. They are seeking a Vice President of Research & Development who will lead the company’s product development strategy, overseeing all aspects of innovation, formulation and scientific research.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of formulators, scientists and technical experts.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, manufacturing capabilities and client expectations.
• Define and execute the R&D strategy aligned with business objectives and customer needs
• Oversee the full product development life cycle – from concept development, formulation, prototyping and scale-up, through to commercalization.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, regulatory and quality etc.
• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and client-specific quality requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive experience in R&D leadership within the dietary supplement or functional food industry.
• Deep understanding of cGMP, FDA regulations, DSHEA, and global regulatory standards
