EU BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Director – ANIMAL HEALTH

Mackenzie Stuart Executive Search & Selection is working in close partnership with a global manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals, in search of a Business Development Director to establish new business in Europe. Currently concentrated in APAC & MEA, this a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with an entrepreneurial flare to build the business.

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Eligible to work in the EU, must speak fluent English.
  • Educated with a Bachelor’s degree discipline.
  • +10 year’s commercial experience, with specific exposure to the animal health industry.
  • Established network with relevant companies, institutions & authorities in the animal health industry.
  • Experience managing P/L and budgeting.
  • Entrepreneurial and motivated self-starter, with a proven track record of developing business and achieving financial objectives

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop commercial strategy to successfully develop and increase the European business unit.
  • Analyse European animal health market to stay on top of key market trends.
  • Act as a member of the global leadership team reporting directly to the CEO.
  • Develop cross functional relationships to support the BD activity (marketing, technical, R&D)
  • Focusing on the sales targets of the organisation, organizing sales activities with short-medium-long terms targets and increasing this in line with said targets.
  • Drive sales and expand customer base.
  • Negotiating contracts, discussing prices and sales agreements, whilst establishing long terms relationships with customers.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant and process safety and change management, communicating any problems with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, define relevant measures and manage their implementation.
  • Support EHS Manager.
  • Produce and provide relevant safety documents.
  • Write incident reports and safety audits.
  • Lead PSSR reviews.
  • Provide advice on operational and maintenance issues.
  • Ensure facility adheres up-to-date safety standards.

About the Person:

I am seeking someone who has a background in Chemistry / Science / Chemical Engineering. To be considered for this role you must be fluent in German and English.

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Science or Engineering, PhD desired.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant and process safety, ideally in API manufacturing plant.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of most recent safety standards.
  • Fluent in English and German.

About The Client

Mackenzie Stuart is currently working in exclusive partnership with a fast-growing, global chemicals distributor, in the search of a “Sales & Product Manager” for the DACH territory, to be based in Germany.

The “Sales & Product Manager” will be responsible for the selling the company’s pharma chemicals portfolio, whilst also working with suppliers and customers to enhance & develop the product offering for specific product lines.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales and negotiate customer contracts
  • Develop new customers and markets for the current product portfolio
  • Explore and study the DACH market in relation to customers’ needs, products, service & pricing
  • Organize sales visits, presenting products on the basis of the needs and requests of individual markets
  • Assume full P&L responsibility for two or three defined products lines – understand products, select new sources, negotiate purchase price, determine sales price, manage supply & demand
  • Work towards reducing company’s carbon footprint and increasing greener product alternatives
  • Attend international chemicals fairs & conferences

About You

We are seeking someone with a strong commercial background and prior experience selling ingredients or chemicals to the Pharma Industry.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or business (pharma or chemical is an advantage)
  • 3+ years’ sales experience within a Pharma distribution environment
  • Entrepreneurial, results-oriented personality
  • Curiosity for new markets, segments & sustainable approaches to chemical distribution
  • Ability to travel as needed (on average 40%) across DACH territory
  • Fluency in English & German

Mackenzie Stuart is working in close partnership with a privately-owned international provider of Testing, Inspection & Certification services. Due to rapid and consistent business growth, we are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager for Food TIC services based in Hamburg, Germany.

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement sales & business development strategy for food testing, inspection & certification services across Europe to ensure company’s sales & profitability targets are met.
  • Work with marketing & other business development teams to promote strategic areas of business & identify new revenue streams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for key accounts in order to drive top line revenue.
  • The maintenance and development of relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • The provision of timely and accurate information on competitive pricing of the company’s activities and assistance in the development and maintenance of price lists and pricing strategies to ensure achievement of the company’s financial targets and objectives.
  • Assist with the development of sales & business development budgets and the assumption of responsibility for the achievement of those budgets with the agreed portfolio of clients

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Hamburg, Germany
  • Must hold a BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university
  • Must have 5 years’ experience in the TIC industry
  • Experience with food safety/quality is preferable
  • Must have 10 years proven sales & business development experience
  • Must be familiar with & have experience using Salesforce
  • Excellent written & verbal English & German communication skills

The expected salary for this role would be in the region of €80,000 – €120,000 plus bonus and additional benefits.
