Position: Regional Market Sector Leader – Water / Wastewater

Location: Texas

Salary: $200,000-$250,000 + Attractive Benefits

The Company

Mackenzie Stuart are working on behalf of a global leading engineering company looking strengthen their position in the Water / Wastewater market in the Gulf Southwest Region of the United States. The company are looking to appoint an experienced and qualified Regional Market Sector Leader to work directly for the Region Business Line Leader in developing the company’s presence throughout the region.

The Role

  • Develop an overall strategy, which articulate market trends/ drivers to successful growth of the Water / Wastewater market in the Gulf Southwest Region of the US.
  • Provides market sector leadership and lead the sales planning process for the market.
  • Leads business development teams to define capture strategies for key pursuits and major projects within regional market.
  • Deliver of large scale water projects (Water Treatment Plants, Wastewater Treatment Plants, Tunnelling, Conveyance, Distribution etc.)
  • Serves as the regional representative and support the national market sector teams.
  • Provide analysis and performance forecasts against business plans.
  • Enhancing client relationships and driving business development

The Requirements

  •  Minimum of 15+ years relevant experience, including recent working experience in the Water / Wastewater industry in the Gulf Coast Region
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Holds a PE license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate work within an integrated multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound understanding of commercial and financial issues.
  • High level of self-motivation and of the ability to motivate others
  • Comfortable taking initiative and making sound business decisions.

Due to succession planning, the organisation is seeking to recruit an Aftermarket Sales Manager – Europe – Rotating Equipment – based in mainland Europe. This is a new role within the organisation and will focus on new business development and account management.

To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:

  • Eligible to work in Europe without visa sponsorship. Preferably based in Switzerland but other mainland Europe locations are considered.
  • Educated with an Engineering degree discipline
  • 8+ years product line experience within rotating equipment with specific technical knowledge of reciprocating compressor products serving the Energy & Power markets
  • 5+ years sales experience within specific aftermarket and service sales experience within Europe
  • Knowledge of distributor and channel management practices and able to develop and maintain relationships with distribution network

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the development of the aftermarket function for the rotating equipment product line across key European territories
  • Lead aftermarket sales activities developing relationships with key distributors and customers in the region
  • Target specific markets and industries in the region to generate revenue
  • Support the technical and aftermarket service teams in the region to deliver excellent customer service
  • Work with existing sales teams in the region to develop product and aftermarket sales strategy plans
  • Reporting into EMEA Sales Director.

This is a new role within the organisation as it looks to take on the next step in its growth strategy and the successful candidate will benefit from the opportunities that will be on offer within the organisation.

Mackenzie Stuart is currently seeking an Area Manager with plenty of experience in the water chemicals industry to be located in the Minneapolis area in Minnesota, USA .

Summary:

Responsible for managing a defined geographic Area. This would include the management of three (3) Water Management Specialist(s). This position is also responsible for maintaining current accounts and growing the area by selling competitively held accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage total account responsibility within the assigned area (i.e. to include accounts that may be assigned with solo sales and service responsibilities)
  • Responsible for growth of new accounts.
  • Ensure profitability of accounts within assigned area through proper pricing, contract management, and service time.
  • Coach assigned Water Management Specialist(s) within the area to develop both service and sales skills and prepare them for career advancement within the organization.
  • Increase sales through targeted, profession sales campaigns to meet annual area sales and profitability targets.
  • Maintain customer base through application of service standards to ensure controllable account attrition is minimized by building upon internal relationships and developing strong relationships with customers.
  • Develop, implement, and provide oversight of account service standards within the assigned Area account base.
  • Establish personal contact/relationship with all current customers in the assigned Area in order to provide account stability in the event of representative turnover or other issues that may jeopardize continuing business.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field.
  • 8 – 10 years of field service and sales.
  • 3 – 5 years of field service and sales management.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Managing technicians and/or Water Management Specialist(s)

Decision Making:

  • Work with District Manager to implement sales strategies, proposals, pricing, and other factors that will positively influence the sales process
  • Work with District Manager to maintain current customer base to achieve minimal account attrition (<5%).
  • Work with District Manager to critically assess Area performance and personnel. Make recommendations for any changes required to meet assigned revenue and profit objectives.

Innovation/Planning/Budget

  • Work with District Manager to develop forecast(s) for plan year, including development of department costs and new sales target plans.
  • Introduce new technology to area customer base through training and coaching of direct reports on the features and benefits of the new technologies.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS/TEAMWORK/PARTICIPATION

  • Participate and encourage training, both “class-room” and “one-on-one, to develop Water Management Specialists and/or technicians both in sales and technical abilities.
  • Participate/lead Area Meetings.
  • Participate in Team Selling to help develop sales of area.

  • Typical working conditions for this position include general indoor office setting and manufacturing environments. The job holder could be exposed to burns, chemicals, dangerous machinery, dirt and dust, electrical hazardous, grease and oil, loud noises, vibrations, steam and high levels of moisture, and other hazardous conditions. This position requires the job holder to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

The expected salary for this role would be in the region of $100,000 – $120,000 plus OTE 15-20% plus added benefits.
