Account Manager, U.K. – Engineering Thermoplastics (Healthcare)

Mackenzie Stuart has partnered with a leading provider of distribution healthcare solutions in southern England. They are expanding their Sales team to meet the growing market demand, and as such, we are searching for a talented and driven Healthcare Sales Account Manager to join to join the team and contribute to our clients’ continued success.

Purpose:

As a Healthcare Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for forecasting and achieving annual sales objectives, margins, and volume growth targets. Your main focus will be on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers, driving customer loyalty, revenue, and profitability. Working closely with channel partners and marketing, you will promote and sell existing products, technologies, and applications while also prospecting for new opportunities to support future growth in the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitable revenue growth, including new business development.
  • Achieve gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Utilize customer-centric selling skills and tools to approach the sales process professionally and effectively.
  • Establish, track, and close new business targets aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Implement marketing programs and provide feedback on resource needs and emerging opportunities.
  • Develop account development plans and network resources within customers’ organizations and our company.
  • Create and execute sales plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets.
  • Conduct prospecting and cold calling to expand the customer base.
  • Contribute to the company’s short-term and long-term business planning, including sales forecasts and volume goals.
  • Maintain and develop both current and new accounts, assessing customer needs and competitive pressures.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and promotional events as needed.
  • Maintain CRM data and sales statistics accurately.
  • Collaborate with Technical, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, major in chemical engineering, polymer engineering, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare, polymer, or technical sales, distribution, or related roles.
  • Experience with CRM software, specifically Salesforce, is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management.
  • Strong understanding of distributor channel strategy and reseller relationship management.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage day-to-day responsibilities effectively.

Environmental Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position.
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50% weekly.
