Position: Sales Manager

Location: Florida, USA

Job Summary: As a Sales Manager in the building materials industry, you will be responsible for leading our sales team and driving revenue growth within the Florida market. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling our diverse range of wood products to contractors, architects, builders, and other key stakeholders in the construction industry. By utilizing your strong leadership skills and industry expertise, you will play a pivotal role in achieving sales targets and expanding our customer base.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to ensure they meet and exceed individual and team sales targets. Provide coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster continuous improvement.
  2. Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement effective sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
  3. Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors’ activities to identify opportunities for growth and adapt strategies accordingly.
  4. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, architects, contractors, and builders. Ensure exceptional customer service and address any issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  5. Business Development: Identify potential new customers and market segments. Develop and execute plans to expand the customer base and increase market share.
  6. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, including accurate sales forecasts, sales performance analysis, and activity tracking. Present reports to senior management and provide recommendations for improvement.
  7. Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our wood products’ features, benefits, and applications to effectively communicate their value propositions to customers.
  8. Trade Shows and Events: Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions to promote our products and create business opportunities.
  9. Budget Management: Work closely with the finance department to manage sales budgets, monitor expenses, and optimize resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or a similar leadership role in the building materials industry, preferably with a focus on wood products.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry in Florida, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Results-driven with a track record of achieving and surpassing sales targets.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales-related tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, but substantial industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
