Job Description:
As a Business Development Manager for our flooring company based in Chicago, Illinois, your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth, increase market share, and expand our customer base within the region. You will play a vital role in identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and promoting our flooring products and services. This position requires strong sales and business development skills, along with a deep understanding of the flooring industry and the Chicagoland market.
Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the flooring industry within the Chicago area.
- Analyze market data and insights to identify opportunities for growth and develop effective sales strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest flooring products, technologies, and industry developments.
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s customer base and market share.
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, contractors, builders, and other industry professionals to generate leads and secure projects.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our flooring products and services.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling sales materials, presentations, and proposals.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop strong relationships with key clients, understanding their flooring needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of our flooring products.
- Regularly follow up with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Sales Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan and strategies to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
- Identify target market segments and develop targeted marketing campaigns to reach potential customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including production, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
- Sales Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Monitor sales performance, track progress against sales targets, and analyze key sales metrics.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Utilize CRM software to manage and track customer interactions, sales pipeline, and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles within the flooring industry or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the flooring industry, including different types of flooring materials, installation methods, and market trends.
- Strong network and relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and builders in the Chicagoland area.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
