Operations Manager – Building Materials (Fibre Cement)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead an operation and drive operational efficiency.

Job Description:

Position Overview: As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for managing a dedicated team, ensuring the production of top-quality fibre cement products, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership:
    • Lead and supervise the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize production processes and enhance overall operational performance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Production Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material procurement to product distribution, to meet production targets and quality standards.
    • Implement best practices for lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process improvement.
    • Monitor production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  3. Supply Chain Management:
    • Manage the supply chain to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and efficient distribution of finished products.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and quality materials.
    • Develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
  4. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control processes and procedures to ensure the highest product quality.
    • Work closely with the quality control team to address any quality issues and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
  6. Budget and Cost Management:
    • Manage the operations budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in operations management within the building materials or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
