Job Description:
Position Overview: As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will be responsible for managing a dedicated team, ensuring the production of top-quality fibre cement products, and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Lead and supervise the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize production processes and enhance overall operational performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, quality control, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Production Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material procurement to product distribution, to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Implement best practices for lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process improvement.
- Monitor production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Supply Chain Management:
- Manage the supply chain to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and efficient distribution of finished products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms and quality materials.
- Develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality control processes and procedures to ensure the highest product quality.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address any quality issues and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Manage the operations budget, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience in operations management within the building materials or manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
