Operations Manager – Building Materials(Insulation)

Job Description:

As an Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing and distribution processes within the insulation division. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the facility, maintaining product quality, and supporting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the operations team, including production supervisors, quality control staff, and warehouse personnel. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  2. Process Optimization: Analyze current operational processes and identify areas for improvement. Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  3. Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality through effective quality control measures, adherence to industry standards, and ongoing evaluation of production procedures.
  4. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, storage, and distribution to ensure on-time delivery and minimize excess stock.
  5. Health and Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting a safety-conscious culture among employees.
  6. Resource Allocation: Manage production schedules, equipment, and labor resources to meet production targets while controlling costs.
  7. Vendor Relations: Work closely with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and timely deliveries of raw materials.
  8. Budget Management: Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and the allocation of resources in alignment with company objectives.
  9. Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on operational performance. Regularly provide performance updates to senior management.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employee suggestions and implementing best practices for efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the building materials or insulation industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in using ERP and other relevant software for operations management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and experience in fostering a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
