Job Title: Operations Manager – Building Materials

Job Description:

As an Operations Manager in the building materials industry, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and optimize all aspects of the manufacturing and supply chain operations within the organization. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production, distribution, and delivery of building materials to meet customer demands while maintaining quality standards and maximizing profitability.

Responsibilities:

Production Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production targets and customer demands.
  • Optimize production processes, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, including raw materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Monitor production performance, analyze data, and implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure smooth production operations.

Supply Chain Management:

  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and other supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels, track delivery schedules, and implement measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Streamline logistics processes, optimize transportation routes, and negotiate contracts with carriers to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (X years) in operations management, preferably in the building materials industry or a related manufacturing field.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain management, and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
