Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Outside Sales Representative specializing in flooring to join our team in New York City. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our range of building materials, specifically flooring products, to clients in the New York City area. Your primary goal will be to generate new business and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and target potential customers in the New York City area who are in need of flooring materials for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  2. Actively prospect and generate new leads through cold calling, networking, attending trade shows, and utilizing other sales techniques.
  3. Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential customers, highlighting the features, benefits, and quality of our flooring products.
  4. Provide excellent customer service by understanding customer needs, offering suitable flooring solutions, and addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  5. Prepare and deliver accurate and competitive sales proposals and quotations to prospective clients, ensuring a clear understanding of pricing, terms, and conditions.
  6. Collaborate with the internal sales team and other departments to ensure smooth order processing, delivery, and installation of flooring products.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and pricing to effectively position our flooring products in the market.
  8. Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and objectives on a consistent basis.
  9. Maintain a detailed database of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management using the company’s CRM system.
  10. Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge seminars to enhance your expertise and contribute to team success.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in outside sales, preferably in the building materials industry or related field.
  2. Strong knowledge and understanding of flooring products, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, and tile.
  3. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and building long-term customer relationships.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and negotiate effectively with customers.
  5. Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong sense of initiative and drive.
