We are currently seeking an accomplished Package Engineer to join our team and work collaboratively with our sales and supply chain departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing packaging design, tooling, and quality issues, as well as managing the quality assurance system, CAPA process, and vendor qualification.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on sourcing, planning, and directing the design and development of packaging components, including custom bottle molds and component decorating. Prepare sketches, specifications, samples, and written analysis of proposed packaging for customer approval.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine required physical characteristics, special-handling and quality requirements, and materials needed for package design.
- Conduct preliminary testing, verify test reports and specifications, and perform related testing and verification of technical information.
- Prioritize projects and minimize development time from concept to creation.
- Perform functional testing, dimensional analysis, and evaluations of defective products to determine root cause and validate corrective action.
Experience:
- Must be proficient with Solid Works >2009, Adobe Illustrator & CAD-CAM
- Knowledge on FDA Regulations pertaining to primary packaging of pharmaceuticals
- Experience with plastics/glass packaging, closures, and related processes
- Must have familiarity of material properties such, HOPE, MOPE, LOPE, PET, PVC, AL, METALS, etc
