Process Engineer – Building Materials (Insulation)

Job Description:

A market leading Insulation manufacturer are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team in the building materials industry, with a specific focus on insulation products. As a Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and improving our manufacturing processes to ensure the efficient production of high-quality insulation materials. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing product quality, increasing production yields, and reducing operational costs. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Process Optimization:
    • Analyze existing insulation manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and R&D, to implement process modifications and best practices.
    • Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to identify trends and areas for process optimization.
  2. Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Develop and implement robust quality control procedures to ensure that insulation products meet the required specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor process performance and product quality.
    • Investigate and resolve any deviations or non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  3. New Product Development:
    • Work closely with the R&D team to translate new insulation product designs into scalable manufacturing processes.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical input during the development of new insulation materials.
  4. Equipment Maintenance and Upgrades:
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure the proper functioning and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
    • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
    • Champion and enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing processes.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze data related to production processes, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports on process performance, yield, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Process Engineer in the building materials industry, with a focus on insulation products.
  • Strong knowledge of insulation materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in process simulation and modeling tools is preferred.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to process improvement.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
