Mackenzie Stuart are currently recruiting for an exceptional Financial Controller to join the finance department of our client, a medium sized international company headquartered in Karlsruhe.

This position provides the opportunity to work closely alongside the senior management and offers exposure to the global business in both Germany, Europe and further afield.

The role is based in Karlsruhe and the organisation is an international firm, with offices on a worldwide basis. It will report into the Global Head of Controlling and Finance and the successful candidate will join a team of 4.

The responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the planning and budgeting of the income statement, balance sheet and income statement and cash flow
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements as well as the consolidated financial statements according to HGB
  • Lead the analysis and evaluation of the monthly financial data with reference to corporate strategy and make tangible suggestions in order to improve performance
  • Responsible for creating business cases on the basis of balance sheet and accounting, business analysis and forecasts
  • Ad-hoc project finance analysis when required

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally currently operating as financial controller for a small to medium sized company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent
  • 3-7 years of relevant controlling experience
  • Strong business case preparation experience and a general ‘all-rounder’ finance profile
  • High familiarity with HGB and ‘tech-savvy’ with regards to accounting and financial software
  • Fluent German and English

On behalf of our client, a multi-billion logistics provider with offices worldwide, Mackenzie Stuart are currently recruiting for the position of Head of Performance Controlling.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Head of Performance Controlling Financial Controller has responsibility for all financial project management in order to improve group profitability, performance and commercial efficiency.

The role should appeal to exceptional finance professionals with 7-10 years experience who are driven, ambitious and looking for a fast growth role with scope to develop to Finance Director level within 3-5 years.

The role is located in Paris.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key partner to operations, tax, IT, accounting and commercial divisions in order to improve group performance and group strategy
  • Manage the client profitability vision and analysis in collaboration with the group commercial department
  • Responsible for the direction of financial projects related to performance improvement including synergy generation and cost control
  • Lead performance measurement and control for all group entities and offices worldwide, including detailed productivity and commercial efficiency analysis
  • Partner closely with General Management in order to make detailed and sound suggestions related to the improvement of group performance
  • Liaise with senior management and utilise cost and synergy management in order to assist with the M+A activities of the group

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 7-10 years experience of financial experience in a controlling or FP+A function
  • Must have experience within a large MNC, preferably within the Logistics, Manufacturing, FMCG or other ‘bricks & mortar’ industry
  • French native or fluent French language ability in addition to fluent English as a minimum
  • Must have Masters or MBA level education from a top 5 French business school or international equivalent
  • Candidates with 3+ years Big 4 training alongside a professional finance membership are also preferred

Mackenzie Stuart is currently looking to recruit for the position of Group Controller for an International Food Production organisation based in Belgium. The organisation has a strong international presence, growing significantly over the last few years and looking to continue this moving forwards. The successful candidate will work directly with the organisations senior leadership team and have the aim of eventually becoming the CFO. Candidates must therefore be ambitious and driven, with experience working with senior leadership/ c-level employees.

The Group Controller will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the financial reporting and consolidation of the organisations global operations.
  • Leading forecasting, budgeting and analysis.
  • Implementing new processes and reporting frameworks.
  • Assisting with strategic decision making and supporting analysis.
  • Ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Driving the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Assisting with the management and development of the wider finance functions within the Group

Candidate Profile:

  • Educated to degree level, preferably with a focus on Finance and Accounting.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience.
  • Food Production or Agricultural industry experience highly desirable.
  • Experience working with fresh produce and a fast natured environment.
  • Fluent in English – fluency or an understanding of Spanish beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable with the bigger picture and strategic decision support.
  • Comfortable travelling globally.
  • An interest on sustainability, circular economy themes and/ or agriculture is desirable
  • The position would ideally suit a driven and determined individual who is looking to grow and take over the CFO responsibilities in the next 2-3 years.

Role

Title: Senior Risk Auditor

Travel: Up to 50% on a global basis, assignment cycle is 2 weeks conducting audits, then 2 weeks report writing in the office in Switzerland.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Regional Internal Audit Manager;
  • Conduct operational audits on a variety of areas within the company to assess the effectiveness of the current controls procedures;
  • Travel with your team to various destinations globally;
  • Create assignment reports, identifying areas for improvements and presenting these ideas to the Regional Internal Audit Manager and potentially other Senior Management within the internal audit and risk functions;
  • Liaise with the global audit and risk teams to create methods of best practice.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • 8 or more years auditing/assurance experience;
  • 3 or more years experience within a Natural Resource based company, such as within the Commodities, Mining or Oil & Gas industry. Individuals from a heavy asset based company will also be considered;
  • CIA is preferable. The individual needs to at least be willing to study for their CIA exams;
  • Being a Chartered Accountant is seen favourably;
  • Big 4 experience is seen favourably;
  • The successful individual will be fluent in English. Additional language skills are seen preferably.
